Bear Bottom Cabins is more than just a rental agency. Our mission is to provide you with not only comfortable accommodations, but to make sure your
NC Mountain Vacation is everything you want it to be. The High Country is one of the most beautiful areas in all the Appalachians. The recreation and relaxation possibilities here are endless and we’re here to make sure you make the most of your vacation. We aim to provide your family not only with the perfect place to stay, but with the dining, sightseeing, and local attraction information that will insure your vacation’s success.
One of the things we pride ourselves on is our High Country Guide. The Bear Bottom Cabins staff has
worked in the service industry here for many
years. We have been ski techs, servers, zip
line guides, and bartenders, to name a few.
Those jobs awarded us the ability to
regularly communicate with visitors and
understand their wants and desires. The
guide covers subjects and questions that we
have been most asked. We help you decide
where to go and where to avoid, providing
you what only years of living here can
provide. These suggestions and
recommendations are not paid endorsements or
merely a binder full of brochures. These are
places that we go and things that we do.
Additionally, the Guide contains all the
information you need to know about the home
you're renting, from TV listings and working
the stereo, to storing your skis.
Some of our Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: Which Ski area is best?
A: Are you looking for the best snow or the smallest crowds? Do you need rentals? Do you know where to rent? Are you looking for the best beginner mountain or for more challenging terrain? These are questions that we have definitive answers to. Our staff has personally worked in the Ski Industry for years. Any possible question you could have about the resorts, rentals, crowds, etc. we have answered time and time again.
Q: Is there any good hiking in the area?
A: This area is a wonderful area for hiking. Got an hour? We know a great place that’s a light stroll off the parkway to catch a sunset. Interested in something to really get your heart pumping?
A hike down into Linville Gorge and back out again
should do the trick. Looking to camp overnight? The legendary Appalachian Trail is only a couple of miles away. Check out our outdoor fun page for more great hikes.
Q: We would love to go out to eat tonight, any suggestions?
A: Once again our staff has worked and dined in many of these area restaurants.
Many of us had college jobs that involved
cooking, serving, and even bartending. Your welcome packet comes with a handpicked selection of what we consider the best restaurants of the area. Whether your looking for
a great place to get pizza (there‘s 6 by the way), breakfast, or a romantic dinner for two, we have taken disappointment out of the equation.
